When Vulcan Materials Company acquired the Mission Gorge facility, the commitments outlined below had been made by Superior Ready Mix which we will continue to honor. If neighbors have questions about any item, we welcome the feedback and the opportunity to hear from you.

Rubberized Asphalt

Prohibit manufacturing and use of rubberized asphalt at the facility.

Rubberized asphalt has not been manufactured or used at this facility since prior to Vulcan Material Company's acquisition of Superior Ready Mix in 2024.

Water Sprays and Stockpile Watering

Water sprays at conveyor transfer points with weekly inspections; active stockpile areas watered by truck at two-hour intervals during loading.

This work continues today and logs track progress.

Street Sweeping

Street sweeper on the north side quarry entrance to 7198 Mission Gorge Rd., three times daily during plant operations, with written log.

A full-time team member operates the sweeper during operations.

We have planted native trees, filled gaps, and maintain them regularly.

We follow our internal blasting standards that exceed industry standards, including those recognized by Caltrans and the former U.S. Bureau of Mines research. Although not required to, we produce Community Monitoring Blast Reports and make those available upon request.
